Kaushik Chowdhury, Captain
Kaushik Chowdhury is the Executive Pastry Chef of the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa, Phoenix, Arizona. He completed the course in culinary arts at the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Mumbai, India before starting his career with Marriott at the Renaissance Mumbai Hotel and Convention Center. In 2003 he moved to England to work at the Four Seasons, Oxford as their pastry chef. In 2004 he came to United States to work at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge, Phoenix.

Kaushik has participated in numerous competitions with distinction. Recent competitions include the Food Network Pastry Dare Devil Sugar Challenge in 2005 held at J W Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa Phoenix, the Food Network Sugar Showdown Challenge February 2006 held in Beaver Creek Colorado, where he won the gold medal for his Sugar Show Piece, the 2007 National Pastry Team Championship in Nashville and the 2008 NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) Wedding Cake Challenge where he took home the gold medal for his creation.

Melynda Gilmore
Melynda Gilmore is currently the Pastry Supervisor for JW Marriott Desert Ridge, Phoenix, Arizona. After graduating from The International Culinary Academy/ Le Cordon Bleu she started her career at The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland. From there she went on to work at prestigious properties that include The Ritz-Carlton-Naples, The Registry Resort and Spa Naples, and The Phoenician before coming to JW Marriott Desert Ridge. During her career she has won accolades participating in numerous local competitions and events.

Keith Taylor
Keith Taylor is the Assistant Pastry Chef at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa. Originally from Philadelphia, it was there Keith received his culinary degree at The Restaurant School. After graduating, he began to sharpen his skills under the tutelage of Thaddeus DuBois, who was then named one of the 10 best pastry chefs in America. Keith then spent two years at the Marriott Wardman Park. During this time he competed in the Southern Pastry Classic in Atlanta. When it was time to move on, Keith made his first trip to Phoenix to be part of the opening team of JW Marriott Desert Ridge. He has since worked at The Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa in Atlantic City as well as being an Assistant Chocolatier before returning to Phoenix and his current position. While in Phoenix, Keith has competed in two ACF competitions in Prescott, AZ as well as the 2007 US Pastry Competition held in NY.
