San Diego Cake Show

Our annual Cake Show Competition will be held on March 10 & 11, 2012, inside the La Jolla Village Square Mall. We are located inside the mall on both levels (Map). The show will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charity of San Diego. This annual event is the largest show of its kind in California. If you missed it last year, here is a sample of what happened. The cake show this year will be bigger and better than ever!

You'll find something for everyone at our show. There are gift baskets you can win with raffle tickets, cupcakes for the kids to decorate and EAT, and hundreds of beautiful cakes and other sugar art items to view and enjoy!

There are many categories for professional, non-professional, adults and children. Anyone who enjoys making decorative cakes, cookies, or other sugar art items is encouraged to check us out and enter! This show is judged by educators of the confectionery arts. Prizes are given to the winning entries.

The "Grand Wedding Cake Competition" is for the highly competitive advanced sugar artists who are looking to be creatively challenged at the most extreme level of perfection. Judging will be by an extremely experienced and highly critical judging team. Are you up for it? Show them your best work and reap the rewards and acclaim!

The entries are judged on Saturday morning and are on display through Sunday. During the Show, there are live demonstrations of many sugar arts, i.e., various cake decorating styles, candy making, cookie decorating, flowers made from gum paste, sugar eggs, gingerbread art, marzipan, or rolled fondant. The demonstrations are at 11:00 A.M.; 1:00 P.M.; 2:00P.M.; 3:00P.M.; and 4:00P.M.on Saturday and at 12:00 Noon; 1:00 P.M.; 2:00P.M.; on Sunday.
